At the beginning of May 2018, 22 videos were produced with the sponsors of the various award categories of the iab webAD 2018 - the most important prize for online advertising in Austria.
The sponsors drove a parkour with E-Scooter in the empty MARX HALLE in Vienna and presented the new location for the Award Gala in October 2018.
At the end of May, the clips were released on various social media platforms in order to call interested parties to submit their entries for the award.
The iab webAD 2018 took place for the first time at Vienna’s Marx Halle on October 11 and set new records with 1,200 guests and 258 submissions. A total of 14 Gold, 15 Silver, and 23 Bronze awards were presented across 20 categories. One of the most successful campaigns was “XXXLutz: Wahl 2017” by Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann, which received six awards and was named “Best in Show – Media.” In the creative category, “Digitale Secession” for WienTourismus was honored as “Best in Show – Creative.” Other Gold awards went to “Caritas Kältetelefon,” Erste Bank, Eurowings, Wiener Linien, and Tunnel23. Rising talent awards were presented to Verena Haas (Wavemaker) and Dominik Radl (Tunnel23). With a new stage concept and acoustic branding by RMS Austria, the event offered an innovative platform for Austria’s digital industry.
